Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) May 16, 2012
Dormont-based Legacy Remodeling just made remodeling industry history: the company was selected by Remodeling Magazine to join the Remodeling Big50, making it the only company to ever receive the honor twice. The Big50 awards were presented at a gala dinner at the Remodeling Leadership Conference in Baltimore, Md. on May 11, 2012. The 2012 Big50 winners are featured in the May issue of Remodeling Magazine, a national trade publication read by more than 80,000 professional remodeling contractors.
Each year since 1986, the Remodeling Big50 inducts 50 owners of remodeling companies that have set exceptionally high standards for professionalism and integrity through exemplary business practices, craftsmanship, and impact in their community or the industry at large. Big50 remodelers run successful, often growing, companies of various sizes that have taken the lead in raising industry standards.
The Big50 selection process has become increasingly rigorous in recent years, and the result, Remodeling editors believe, is one of the strongest classes to date. All 2012 inductees ?stood up to detailed examinations of their businesses and their books, and they all demonstrated an admirably deft ability to restructure, retrench, and flat-out hustle to remain viable in a challenging economic climate,? according to Remodeling Magazine.
?We are very honored to receive this distinction,? says Jeff Moeslein, President of Legacy Remodeling. ?The award recognizes excellence and leadership, and we are privileged to be named to this select group of remodelers.?
Remodeling Magazine editors, columnists, industry leaders, and the companies themselves make the nominations each year. Following a lengthy evaluation and interview process, the editors select the 50 individuals who exemplify the best of the industry that year, and who have something to offer other remodelers in proven practices. Winners are selected in these categories: business savvy, fine design, industry impact, market wise, movers & shakers, niches, sales & marketing, and teamwork. Legacy Remodeling was selected for the category of business savvy for its innovative marketing techniques that helped it succeed during the economic downturn.
Legacy Remodeling is the only company in the history of the Remodeling Big50 to win the award twice. The company won the award under its previous name, Swing Line Windows, in 1998.
The Big50 honor comes at an exciting time for the company as it celebrates its 25th anniversary. Founded by Ken and Linda Moeslein in 1987, the company originally focused on selling high-quality, energy efficient replacement windows to homeowners in Pittsburgh and the surrounding areas. Since then, the company has expanded significantly and now offers services including replacement windows, siding, roofing, doors, additions, decks, and kitchens.
In addition to the Big50 accolade, Legacy has also been recognized in the past year by Remodeling Magazine as part of its ?Remodeling 550? list of the largest remodelers in the nation, as well as by Qualified Remodeler Magazine as one of its ?Top 500 Remodelers by Size? in the country. In both publications, Legacy was ranked as the largest Pittsburgh-based remodeling company.
